Perfect storm of talent leads to championships and a run at nationals
Before the women’s basketball season even began, Head Coach Delwyn Jones knew his team would be good. He saw the makings of a conference and region championship – and he was right.
One final hurrah at nationals
After a tough battle, the Cyclones ended their run at nationals in a 77-60 loss to the Schoolcraft College Ocelots.
Still alive in the consolations
After a rough start to nationals, the Cyclones went back to their winning ways, taking a 77-69 win against a tough Lincoln Land Community College team.
Cyclones fall in nationals opener, relegated to consolation bracket
The Cyclones started their journey at the NJCAA Division II Championship against Cleveland Community College on March 16 but were unable to display their typical scoring prowess or force on the court, losing their opening game in their lowest turnout of the season – 55-46.
Region Champs!
The Cyclones were crowned Region 4 champs once again after a contentious 72-60 victory over Kankakee Community College in the region finals.

Getting into the NJCAA Region 4 finals was anything but easy. The Cyclones had to face Carl Sandburg College in the Region 4 semifinals, and they made it a challenge. However, Moraine Valley prevailed in the end thanks to some free throws and well-timed steals.

The Cyclones set the tone for their run in the playoffs after taking down Kishwaukee College 108-65 in the Region 4 quarterfinals.
