Final regular season doubleheader ends in split before playoffs

In their final regular season games, the Cyclones came close to sweeping Madison College but settled for a split.

GAME ONE
Londynn Sedlak (2-for-4, RBI) opened the scoring with the homerun, but it wasn't until the sixth inning that the Cyclones scored again. Estelle Loth (1-for-3, RBI) hit her own solo homerun to get within one run before Megan Hackett (2-for-3) hit a single that was botched by a Wolves' fielder and allowed the tying run to score. However, a string of Wolves' hits in the next inning gave the Cyclones a two-run deficit. Moraine Valley couldn't find the offense to score one more time in this 5-3 loss.

GAME TWO
The Cyclones found their hitting mojo in the second game, winning the affair 9-3 thanks in part to a big seven-run inning.

With the score tied 2-2 after three innings, the Cyclone bats came out. Teagan Krzystof (2-for-3, RBI) started the inning with a single before Jill Zodrow (2-for-5, 2 RBIs) drove her home on a double. Then Londynn Sedlak (3-for-5, RBI) singled in another run. Brooklynn Sedlak singled and Loth walked to load the bases before Haley Tracy scored one on a single to left field. Keira Clancy (1-for-4, RBI) grounded into a fielder's choice that scored another run. With two outs, Annabelle Rush (3-for-4, 2 RBIs) and Krzystof each drove in runs to solidify the lead.

Alexandra Wolcott earned the victory after allowing three runs and striking out two.

The Cyclones will find out later this week who they will face in the playoffs.
