The Cyclones scored 15 runs in their two-game sweep of South Suburban College.
GAME ONE
Although the Cyclones got on the board first, it was the huge nine-run sixth inning that pushed them ahead for the ultimate 11-1 victory.
Holding a narrow 2-1 lead, the Cyclones went on a hitting spree. Estelle Loth (2-for-4, RBI) got on with a single before Keira Clancy (3-for-4, 2 RBIs) knocked her in with a homerun to left field to go up 4-1. Haley Tracy reached first on a fielding error before Megan Hackett was walked. Abbey Mrskos (1-for-2, RBI) then drove in one run on a line drive, Teagan Krzystof knocked in another run on a sac fly and Jill Zodrow (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) scored another run on a double to make it 7-1. Brooklynn Sedlak (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) scored two more runs that inning on a triple before she crossed home plate on a double from Loth. A fielder's choice on a grounder from Tracy added the final run.
Between the pitching and fielding, the Cyclones were able to contain the Bulldogs at the plate. Tracy also held the Bulldogs to seven hits and no earned runs from the mound.
GAME TWO
Loth (2-for-4, 3 RBIs) started this game with a home run to get on the board first, 2-0. She added another run with an RBI double in the third. The Bulldogs came within one run in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a string of hits, however, the Cyclones added some insurance in the fifth with a solo homerun from Krzystof (2-for-2, RBI) to go up 4-2.
The Bulldogs attempted to come back with another run and some hits in the sixth inning, but the Cyclones had the pitching and fielding to stop them for the 4-3 win.
Londynn Sedlak went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Cyclones in hits. Kasey Jackson earned the win after throwing seven innings, surrendering two earned runs and striking out one.
