Cyclones stumble in tough twin bill vs. Rock Valley

Softball infielders gathering on the pitcher's mound to talk.

It's always one of the toughest matchups for the Cyclones all season, and their first meeting with Rock Valley College was no different.

GAME ONE
It was just one rough first inning that gave the Cyclones a huge deficit that they couldn't escape.

Although the Cyclones did commit some errors, the Golden Eagles had strong offense at the plate to go ahead 13-0 by the bottom of the third. The Cyclones earned their two runs in the fifth inning. Teagan Krzystof (1-for-2) doubled and Jill Zodrow (1-for-3) singled in that inning before the former stole home to her team on the board. The Golden Eagles had a fielding error after Brooklynn Sedlak (1-for-3) hit a pop fly to get runners on first and third before Estelle Loth (2-for-3, RBI) knocked the second run in on a hard grounder to left field. But that was the end of the Cyclones offense as they fell 13-2.

GAME TWO
The Cyclones were shut down at the plate in the nightcap, losing the affair 10-0 and mustering just one hit after Loth crushed a double in the top of the fourth. Loth, Haley Tracy and Londynn Sedlak each walked in this game, but those were the only base runners.
