The Cyclones collected nearly 20 runs in their two-game sweep of College of DuPage.
GAME ONE
Bats were blistered as the Cyclones defeated the Chaparrals 11-7, collecting 17 hits in the affair.
Moraine Valley jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the third inning after Aidan Roessler (2-for-4, RBI) and Andrew Phelan (4-for-5, 2 RBIs) each drove in a run on singles, Michael Fiedor (2-for-5, 5 RBIs) doubled in another three runs before Valente Melero (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) cleared the bags with a two-run homerun.
The rest of the Cyclones' runs came in their next at-bat when Phelan hit an RBI double and Fiedor drove in two more runs with two outs on a line drive to right field.
Lucas Hicks earned the win, allowing seven hits and seven runs over six innings and striking out three. Jack Greaney collected the save and had one strikeout.
GAME TWO
After being down most of the game, the Cyclones' four-run seventh inning lifted them past the Chaparrals 8-6 for the sweep.
Aiden Radtke put the Cyclones on the board first in the top of the first with an RBI single, but the Chaparrals countered to take the lead.
The Cyclones comeback came in the seventh with one out. Fiedor was hit by a pitch and Melero walked before Radtke cleared the bases with a double before scoring himself on an error by the catcher to go up 7-5. Two more batters were hit by pitches before Phelan was walked to score the final run. Although the Chaparrals attempted a comeback and scored one more, some fly outs ended the game.
Greaney earned the win, surrendering six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out two.
