The Cyclones split with Bryant and Stratton, continuing a previously postponed game and coming back in the seventh inning of the second game with a walk-off homerun winner.
GAME ONE
It was only in the final two innings where the Bobcats collected enough runs to defeat the Cyclones 5-3.
Moraine Valley scored first after Michael Fiedor (1-for-3) doubled to right field then stole third base and was batted home on a ground-out by Jared Velez. The Bobcats tied the game in their next at-bat before the Cyclones took a 3-1 lead in the fifth after Andrew Phelan (1-for-5, RBI) hit an RBI single and Valente Melero (1-for-5, RBI) doubled in the third run. The Bobcats had a string of hits while the Cyclones walked too many batters in the final innings for the loss.
GAME TWO
It came down to the wire with some offensive fire and the heroics of Carlos Flores (1-for-1, 3 RBIs), who hit a walk-off homerun in the last inning to elevate the Cyclones ahead of the Bobcats 9-7.
Both teams had 11 hits this game with the Bobcats starting the scoring in the third inning. The Cyclones were down 6-0 going into the bottom of the fifth when Phelan (2-for-4) and Melero (1-for-4, RBI) got on base with hard singles before Christian Deshazer (2-for-3, 3 RBIs) knocked them both in on a homerun to left field.
The Bobcats tacked on more runs, seeing the Cyclones go down 7-3 in their final at-bats. Phelan started the comeback with a double and scored after Melero hit a hard grounder that forced a fielding error. Deshazer grounded into a fielder's choice before Aiden Radtke (1-for-4) got on with a single. With two outs and two on, Fiedor (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) doubled a line drive that scored two runs, getting the Cyclones within one run. Joshua Keller walked before Flores came into the game that inning and hit a bomb to left field, scoring three runs and ending the game.
