Winning at home

A Moraine Valley batter hits the ball.

The Cyclones were able to pull a 4-3 win out of their one nine-inning game with Illinois Valley Community College.

Every time Moraine Valley scored, it seemed like Illinois Valley battled back. The Cyclones opened the scoring in their first at-bat after Aiden Radtke (1-for-3, RBI) hit an RBI single. The Eagles then tied the game when the Cyclones committed a fielding error in the second. Moraine Valley took the lead again the next inning after Christian Deshazer (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) hit an RBI single. After Illinois Valley tied it, Deshazer had another RBI hit to get ahead. A sixth-inning walk allowed the Cyclones their final run to help seal the victory.

Will Swierczynski earned the win on the mound after giving up one run and striking out four with zero walks over four and two-thirds innings.
