It was a tough day at the ballpark as they Cyclones dropped two at Kaskaskia College.
GAME ONE
There wasn't much scoring for either team in their first matchup of the day and a tie going into the sixth inning before the Cyclones fell 4-2.
Although Kaskaskia scored one run first in the second inning, the Cyclones tied it up in the fourth inning after Andrew Phelan and Valente Melero each walked before Phelan stole second and scored on two wild pitches. The Blue Devils collected three more runs on a string of hits in the bottom of the sixth inning to go up 4-1. In the Cyclones' final at-bats, Lucas Hicks (1-for-3) drove one pitch into left field for a homerun. However, a subsequent walk, strikeout and double play ended the game.
GAME TWO
The Cyclones scored early in the nightcap with Melero (1-for-3) getting his team on the board first with an RBI single. After the Blue Devils collected two runs to take a lead, Caston Norris (1-for-3) tied the game with a ground out that scored a run. Anthony Gura (1-for-3) gave his team the 3-2 lead after a solo homerun, but that was the last of the Cyclones' scoring efforts. The Blue Devils hit a few homeruns in the bottom of the third and tacked on two more runs in different innings to deal Moraine Valley the 7-3 loss.
