The Cyclones were able to fit in five matches and a 3-2 victory before rain ended their home opener when they faced a new tennis team out of Bryant & Stratton College.
Head Coach Breanna Vollan switched up the lineup to rest some players and pit others against different challenges. Milca Barrera (No. 3) won 6-0, 6-0 in a smart and aggressive match. Ban Alobaidi also won at No. 4 singles (6-0, 6-2) while Olivia Preston played an eight-game pro-set against the Bobcats' No. 3 singles player and won 8-2.
Julie Andrist was slotted at No. 1 singles and Trisha Meyers at No. 2, both falling 0-6, 0-6. They each hung in their respective matches and battled through some tough moments, which became good learning experiences, Vollan said. The first doubles match was able to get one set in before the rain started.
