This was no easy victory as the Cyclones battled through several three-set tiebreakers with Elgin Community College but came ahead 5-4.
Nearly every match was long as both teams fought for every point. At No. 1 singles, Zack Johnson started with a 4-6 loss, came up with the 6-4 second set and worked hard in the third set to win it 10-7. At No. 4, Malachi Soto also had a similar stretch, winning the first set 6-4 before falling 4-6 and going into a very long tiebreaker that ended with Soto eking past his opponent 17-15. The No. 3 pairing of Dylan Roberts and Zachary DeMarco also resulted in a long match, but with the Cyclones coming out ahead 9-7.
