In their home and season opener, the Cyclones had a tough battle in chilly and breezy conditions with Oakton College. Despite battling through some three-set tiebreakers, Moraine Valley narrowly fell 5-4.
At least half the players competed in their first college matches today, but collectively they all put up a good fight against the Owls. Sophomore Lukas Cepronas at No. 3 singles battled through a tiebreaking loss (6-4, 1-6, [10-12]) as did No. 2 doubles Ujwal Patel and Dhrumil Prajapati (6-7, [3-7], 0-6). Freshmen Omar Bzami and Patrick Jerabek pulled out a tough victory at No. 3 doubles (6-3, 7-6).
