In their second match of the season, and on their home course at Cog Hill, the Cyclones played well, but so did everyone else.
It all came down to the fifth man's scores. Between the second and fourth place teams, there was a difference of five stroke. The narrow edge saw the Cyclones finish in fourth place among the Skyway Conference teams. Joey Charleston finished first for the Cyclones with a 76 followed by Rory Moran (80), Matt Pawyza (85), Dominick Rallo (85) and Tayler Schade (89).
"We were just a few strokes away from second place. We went from thinking we were in second until the fifth man scores came in, so only five strokes separated three places," said Head Coach Matt Lovelace. "We had some little mistakes that cost us. All the teams are pretty solid this fall. We didn't play bad today; we just got beat."
