The Cyclones shook out the nerves in their opening outing – the first conference match at ThunderHawk Golf Club. Moraine Valley finished third.
According to Coach Matt Lovelace, the first outing is always the toughest, especially since this one was played on the hardest course the Cyclones will see all season. It was a tough front nine, but they all found a way to turn it around and play better on the back half.
Leading the way was the lone sophomore, Matt Pawyza, with 83 followed by Joey Charleston (84), Tayler Schade (86), Rory Moran (87) and Dominick Rallo (92).
"They just had a few bad holes, but we will be working hard to win next week on our home course at Cog Hill," Lovelace said.
