The Cyclones have been able to make impressive comebacks in their last few games to collect wins, but their attempts against Elgin Community College came up just short in the final seconds of their first matchup this season.
It was an off night for the Cyclones, especially in the first half when they were held to just 19 points. As they have the last few games, they made a comeback late in the second half. But this time was unsuccessful. With 30 seconds left before the buzzer, the Spartans missed a three, and Yousef Jarad scored off a rebound to tie the game 64-64. Once Elgin had possession again, they were able to sink a three and force a Cyclones turnover in the last 10 seconds, dealing Moraine Valley the 69-64 loss.
