The Cyclones started and ended their run in the Region IV quarterfinals against the always tough Triton College Trojans, but the offense struggled to make their mark as they fell in the doubleheader.
In the first game, Mariah Martinez was masterful on the mound striking out six, walking three and allowing only four hits. In the third inning, after striking out the first hitter and inducing a pop fly for the second out, a few Cyclone errors allowed the only three runs of the game. Meanwhile, the offense mustered just one hit, a single by Angela Abrand in the 3-0 loss.
The second game saw the offense yield two hits, one each from Abrand and Samantha Stahl. After the first inning, the Cyclones trailed 4-0. Karly Krown allowed eight runs on eight hits in the 8-0 loss.
